Uncertainty!!
My life requires some cataloging as things have been relatively hectic for the past 2 months. I had left my prior organization in search of greener pastures and the journey since then from the cocoon has been fabulous.
My expertise (although 30 months cannot be the judging criteria for understanding a technology) is mainframes and suddenly I find myself in a completely different environment with just COBOL familiarity as my aide.
Trainings were given to make this MAINFRAME individual get tailored to UNIX and after a week was left loose to experiment. To top it all, the application is cosmic and complex.
The pressure is high; the tasks are demanding and they keep me engaged for the whole day and even invade my dreams to a great extent.
However, when I look back, I realize that although I was in my comfort zone with great colleagues and friends in my previous organization but this change was necessary not only for my growth and development but also to remove the monotony in work and my life as a whole.
I don't know what the consequences are in the long run but I am optimistic.
